This meeting will take place in the Assembly Chambers, Public Safety Building, 213 Haines Highway.

Draft Agenda:

1. Discuss F18 Budget preparations (6-7pm)

Review current revenue/expenditures

  • review the total expenditures as a whole
  • review the top 5 cost centers and top 5 accounting number accounts
  • identify the areas that have the greatest impact on savings

Future revenue assumptions

  • State Revenue share
  • Raw Fish Tax
  • School debt reimbursement

Request committee support for implementing efficiencies

  • Create “Innovation and Efficiency Task Force”  comprised of borough staff and public members to explore, develop and implement innovative processes that would result in a more efficient delivery of borough services and maximize the use of limited taxpayer dollars.
  • Government Affairs & Services:
    • Determine essential & nonessential services
    • Prioritize nonessential services
  • Planning Commission:
    • Prioritize roads
    • Determine nonessential facilities & prioritize
  • Finance:
    • Develop ideas to bridge revenue gap

2. Review and discuss harbor construction bid (7-8pm)
