At Home Covid Test Kits

To help safeguard the community, the EOC has a limited number of Binax Now At Home Test kits available to residents returning from travel.  The focus on returning travel is to acknowledge that with very little community spread, the greater concern for transmission is people traveling to Haines.  The Home Test kits are available from 9 am – 5 pm, Monday through Friday at the Haines Borough Administration Building and on request at the Public Safety Building in the hallway across from the Assembly Chambers – call 766-6409 to request.  Due to the limited quantity, please only take one box per family member.  Note…there are two tests per box.  Follow the instructions you receive with your kits. 

The Haines EOC recommends the following for those who have travelled:

1.            When you return from your trip, test at the Juneau Airport.

2.            Test yourself (with an At Home Test) on the 5th day after you return to the community. 

3.            Mask when you are traveling through the community until you have tested negative with both the PCR and the At Home Test

4.            If you test positive with the At Home Test you must

a.  Quarantine yourself

b.  Verify the positive result with a PCR test from the SEARHC Clinic

c.  Follow Public Health Nurse recommendations
