Seeking Damage Reports from January 8 -11 Winter Storm

Winter Storm Watch

The Governor declared an emergency for the January 8 - 11 Winter Storm Event. If you sustained damage to your home or property during that time period, please report it to the Borough on the attached webform. The current emergency declaration does not cover Individual Assistance but we are collecting the information anyway. If there is enough, we are hoping we will be able to encourage the state to add Individual Assistance.

Report Storm Damage to Haines Borough

(To report an imminent threat to life or property, please call 911 or 766-2121 first)

Why? The Haines Borough is collecting data regarding the extent of January 8-11 storm-related damage. The Borough will use this data to report to the State Emergency Operations Center and to schedule resources. Reporting damage will not necessarily result in response or assistance from the Haines Borough or the state. Reporting damage helps the borough comprehend the extent of weather-related damage and abnormalities, identify trends, and solicit for outside aid for the borough and its citizens.

What? Any information about storm-related damage sustained January 8 -11, 2022, such as:

  • Damaged structures (collapsed roofs, cracks in walls, wet basements, failed structures, etc)
  • Flooded, clogged, or damaged culverts
  • Property damage (falling trees, landslide, cracks in driveways, etc)

We need a description (words and/or pictures), a location, and the time that you made the observation. Do not report twice.
