Household Hazardous Waste Collection

FREE HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION

WHO’S ELIGIBLE: All households and government agencies. Please contact the Borough at 314-3168 for more information.

WHAT’S ELIGIBLE: Poisons, disinfectants, solvents, herbicides, used oil, flammable liquids (gasoline, diesel fuel, Blazo, etc.), paint products, paint thinner, furniture stripper, antifreeze, acids, cleaners, pesticides, transmission fluid, wood preservatives, floor wax, printing and photographic chemicals, Ni-Cad and lithium batteries, auto batteries, and mercury.

Items not in the original container will NOT be accepted under any circumstances.

WHAT’S NOT ELIGIBLE: Explosives, blasting caps and gun pow­der, reactives such as sodium metal, infectious wastes, radioactive wastes, light bulbs of any kind, household batteries (AAA, AA, C, D, 9-volt, etc.) and any item not mentioned in the eligibility list.

WHERE: New Public Works Shop Yard - North Side of Union Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

WHEN: The Borough shall provide areas for the collection of household generated hazardous waste from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM on Friday, July 19, and 7:00 AM until 12 noon on Saturday, July 20 (or until the containers reach capacity).

Note: Bondo body work putty is not able to be shipped with normal household hazardous waste. Please donate unused portions to someone in need or a local automotive body work shop.
