Haines Harbor Recycling and Waste Disposal

ATTENTION ALL HARBOR USERS

Your staff at Haines Harbor is working hard to help you deal with all types of waste disposal.  We have dumpsters available for harbor users that clearly spell out what types of waste can go into them. The harbor has an oil waste disposal shed that accepts all types of filters, oils, oil rags, hydraulic lines, and  containers used for oil. We are making these services available to the Haines Harbor users. Please help us keep these areas clean and organized. 

Electronic waste should be disposed of with CWS or the recycle center when these items are accepted. We do not accept batteries. They should be taken to facilities in town (such as Big Foot or Haines Industrial) that accept them free of charge. Other hazardous waste, such as paint, antifreeze, etc., can be taken to Public Works during their annual House Hold Waste Disposal events.

The Haines Borough gets charged extra if you place waste such as electronics, paint, oil, large construction waste, fiberglass, batteries, anti-freeze and five gallon plastic buckets.  In addition, if non harbor waste is disposed of in the harbor dumpsters, this effects the user fees passed on to harbor users.

Please dispose of your waste properly. It will only take you an extra minute and it will help tremendously.  In addition, if you see the dumpsters being used improperly, please mention it to the person or bring it to the Harbor Staff’s attention.
