Young Road Repairs Dec 2020 Storm Event 4585DR-AK PW #00024 (435785)

During the December 2020 Storm, Young Road received significant damage.  This project is to repair the damage to the road and drainage, but also mitigation of some of the biggest problem areas along the Young Road Corridor.  The Haines Borough Staff have worked closely with FEMA to claim 404 Mitigation (Public Assistance Disaster) repairs that include moving the water and sewer lines along Young Road into the Haines Borough ROW.  Additionally, there will be steps taken to increase the efficiency of the drainage and culverts for the entire length of Young Road. These fixes will increase the area's ability to withstand large weather events, and bring water and sewer lines into alignment with Borough Code. This project is expected to be significant, and there will be delays along that area for most of the summer once work begins. 

Young Road repairs have gone out to bid on May 12, 2022 and will close at 3 pm on June 6, 2022.
