Write-In Campaign
Per Haines Brorough Code Section 11.24.030, by September 26, 2019 at 5:00 pm, deliver a letter of intent to the Borough Clerk's office with:
1. The full name of the candidate;
2. The full physical residence address of the candidate;
3. The full mailing address of the candidate;
4. The office that the candidate seeks;
5. The date of the election at which the candidate seeks election (October 1, 2019);
6. The name of the candidate as the candidate wishes it to be written on the ballot by the voter;
7. That the candidate meets the residency requirements of the office for which the person is a candidate (basically a Haines Resident for at least one year prior to the election but the specific requirements may be found at HBC 11.24.010 Candidate qualifications.)
8. That the candidate is a qualified voter as required by law; and
9. That the candidate is not a candidate for any other office to be voted on at the general election and that the candidate is not a candidate for this office under any other nominating petition or declaration of candidacy.
You may deliver the letter of intent to the Clerk as follows:
- Bring it to Borough Administration office located at 103 Third Avenue South, Haines
