Head out Lutak road for unbelievable views. A stop at Chilkoot State Park is a picture taking bonanza. Fishing, swimming, Camping, Boating. You name it we got it. Pack a picnic, your paddle board, and bug spray for a fun filled day or pack your camping gear and make a night or a weekend of it. Spectacular fishing and a favorite hang out for bears, caution is a key word in bear country. Remember the bears have the right of way. The park is also home to a fish counting weir. A little slice of heaven in Haines, Alaska. Spectacular views abound in this little "pullout" style park. Picnic tables, grills, a bathroom and a million dollar view. What more could you ask for! A must see for sure.
Fun for kids of all ages. Swing on the swings, climb the castle, be a pirate or a race car driver. That and so much more. Lots of places to sit & watch the kids play. A BATHROOM!!!!! Connected to the playground is a big grassy field to kick around the ball, throw the Frisbee or picnic. Love Haines
