General Use Rezone Survey

The Haines Borough Planning Commission is leading a rezoning effort specifically for the areas of the Mosquito Lake Community, Chilkat Lake Road, 24 to 28 mile Haines Highway and the Covenant Life area.

Over time, land use patterns in several General Use (GU) designated areas have evolved significantly, creating a growing mismatch between existing zoning codes and actual on-the-ground development. The Borough acknowledges that these lands, especially our public lands, represent a shared common value for the entire Haines community.

Because of this, we want to hear from you. We invite all Haines residents, whether you own property in these specific areas or simply care about the future growth of our Borough, to participate in this brief survey. Your input will directly shape the future of our local zoning and land management decisions. Thank you for your time!
