The Haines Borough is accepting applications for a permanent, full-time police officer. This position is under the direct supervision of the Chief of Police.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent, all requirements set forth by the Alaska Police Standards Council for employment as a police officer in Alaska, and a valid Alaska driver’s license. Preference may be given to Alaska certified or certifiable applicants. Applicant must be in good physical health. A complete extensive background investigation with criminal record checks, credit rating and polygraph examination to determine the candidate’s fitness of character, reputation and reliability for police work will be required. Preference will be given to applicants with police experience.
Wage: $32.10 - $35.72/hour (DOE). Additional $1/hour shift differential for swing shift and $3/hour for grave shift. This position includes PERS & SBS retirement, health insurance, personal leave, paid holidays, and is eligible for union membership. The annual gross wages including OT and standby time $87,770 - $96,764 DOE
